Promptober Day 31 - Mystery Dungeon
“What are you playing?” Jiyun asked, sliding in on the couch next to her sister. “Mystery Dungeon.” Ji-a answered as she moved around with Charmander. “You still play Pokemon?” Jiyun couldn’t help but tease her. This got Ji-a’s attention and she playfully elbowed the other lockette. “Don’t act like you don’t still have a Pikachu plushie somewhere in your room. I bet you’ve even pre-ordered the next game, you can’t bullshit me.” “Alright, alright, you got me.” Jiyun raised her hands in surrender, causing them both to laugh.

Promptober Day 30 - Halloween Party
Cosmos rolled her eyes as she flipped through her mail and discovered an invitation. Barbara wouldn’t know how to throw a decent Halloween party if a pumpkin slapped her in the face. She tossed it aside carelessly, but Hinata picked it up, curious. “What’s this?” “An invitation to a Halloween party. I get a few of them every year.” Cosmos continued flipping through her mail without looking up. Hinata studied the invitation carefully. Dressing up, playing games, food and beverages… it sounded lovely, and she wanted to experience something like this at least once. “Can we go?” “Her parties are not up to par, I wouldn’t be caught dead there.” Cosmos answered honestly. “Oh…” Hearing the disappointment in Hinata’s voice, Cosmos finally looked up at her and realized her mistake. Of course Hinata would look forward to something like that, seeing as she’d never attended a Halloween party before. Cosmos instantly felt guilty for her callous refusal, but she knew how to make it up to her.

Promptober Day 29 - Moonlit Window
Valencia discovered early on in her career that most gextro loved moonlight. The first few gextro she cared for would always curl up on the windowsill, bathing in the moonlight. This didn’t pose a challenge at first, but once she started caring for more and more, she started to run out of window space for all of them. Eventually, she renovated a section of her house to accommodate them. In a large room that was reserved for the gextro, she had an entire wall replaced by glass. She made sure that the replaced wall was facing the direction where the moonlight would hit it most directly. This meant that the moonlight was enough to fill up the entire room, and her gextro could bask in it wherever they wanted. She also installed curtains so that when the sun came up, she could close them so that the harsher light didn’t bother them. The renovation hadn’t been cheap, and for that matter, caring for this many gextro wasn’t cheap either. Valencia smiled though, because when she caught them
Saphira had spent weeks tracking her prey. As it turned out, tracking proved to be quite difficult when your mark could fly, no matter how large it was. With no footprints to guide her, she had to rely on other clues and people to find out where it had gone. It was a slow process, but it finally paid off, for now she was standing before a cave that she knew housed what she was looking for. And what exactly was her prey? A gigantic, terrifying dragon. The weeks spent tracking it had been the easy part, for now it was her duty to slay it. Taking a deep breath, Saphira summoned her spear. Her hopes of catching the dragon when it was sleeping were dashed when she heard a loud roar erupt from somewhere deep inside the cave. No matter; she would end this today. Gripping her spear tightly, Saphira entered the cave.

Promptober Day 27 - Demonic Presence
“Come out from behind there.” Warden demanded, glaring at a nearby tree. Sure enough, the demon that she was looking for slinked out from behind it, knowing it was caught. As someone who worked with demons on the daily, they were unable to mask their presence from her. If one escaped, such as this one had, she would track it without fail. Thankfully, it wasn’t a very common occurrence, and typically only happened when a demon became curious. Warden still didn’t appreciate the unnecessary work. “Go back.” She ordered. She could swear she saw the demon pout if that was even possible, but it wouldn’t disobey her. A portal glowed beneath its feet, and it sank down below, where it belonged.

“Bloody Mary!” Contortion grinned into her mirror, eagerly awaiting to see if she summoned the spirit. “...What are you doing?” Myrcella raised an eyebrow as she watched her sister. “I heard about an interesting human legend!” Contortion’s tail flicked back and forth excitedly. “It says that if you say her name into a mirror, she’ll appear!” “Hmm, yes, but I don’t think you’re following the proper procedure.” Contortion tilted her head. “Why?” “Well for one, the legend says that you need to say her name three times, not once… and it has to be in a bathroom mirror, not the hand mirror that you summoned.” “She sure is picky for a spirit…” Contortion mumbled. Myrcella could only laugh.

It always bugged Tempest when people would call Cryy a pet or a weapon. Humans or other creatures were prone to calling him a pet, whereas lockettes would typically call him a weapon. While he was technically a weapon she summoned, he was so much more than that. He was her companion. Her friend. Her familiar. Their relationship carried far more weight than what a pet or weapon implied, so she would always correct this misconception when it arose. Admittedly, the correction wasn’t always gentle. Depending on the person and their attitude, it wasn’t uncommon for her to glare or even punch them. Cryy would always grin wider at this, as if laughing. And of course, she would laugh alongside him, just as friends do.

Promptober Day 24 - Dark Waters
Dark water always brought back terrible memories for Syndra. Memories of being trapped by Morgana, memories of nightmares that dragged on for so long that she couldn’t remember what was fact or fiction. It was almost cruel that she found her new home in the abyss region, where dark water was a constant and a given. Indeed, it bothered her greatly when she first arrived, but she was learning to deal with it better now. She was beginning to heal. Anja helped her greatly when it came to coping and recovering, whether intentional or not. Just being around her made Syndra’s doubts and worries melt away. It was like her mere presence could vanquish darkness. If she ever felt uneasy, she knew that she was welcome to speak her mind and to cuddle until she felt better. It was also a relief to her that Anja didn’t mind her asking seemingly silly questions, such as whether an event actually occurred or not. Soon enough she would have a reliable record of reality. Slowly but surely, she would
